Short Bio

Jun Li received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from Carleton University, Canada, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. During his graduate studies, Dr. Li was awarded numerous scholarships, including four Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS) (2004 - 2008) and a Dewan Chand and Ratna Devi Marwah Memorial Scholarship in Mathematics and Statistics (2005), and was on final list of nominees for University medals. Dr. Li held an instructor position from January 2007 to March 2009 and was a post-doctoral fellow between September 2008 and March 2009 at Carleton University. He is now a research scientist at the Communications Research Centre (CRC) Canada. Dr. Li has published more than thirty conference and journal papers. His research interests include wireless network protocol design, modeling/analysis/simulation for wireless (mobile) networks, and communication network performance evaluation/optimization. Dr. Li is a member of the technical program committees of many international conferences including IEEE ICC, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE WCNC, IEEE ICCCN and MILCOM. He serves as Publication Chair on the 4th International Conference on Ad Hoc Networks (ADHOCNETS 2012) and as Symposium Co-Chair of the Network Algorithms and Performance Evaluation symposium on the second International Conference on Computing, Networking, and Communications (ICNC'2013). He is a Senior Member of IEEE serving as Vice Chair of the Joint Chapter of Signal Processing, Oceanic Engineering, and Geoscience and Remote Sensing (SP/OE/GRS) of the IEEE Ottawa Section.
